I hope you had a joyful Thanksgiving and survived the Black Friday and Cyber Monday craziness. We’re excited for Giving Tuesday and always make an extra effort to be charitable, not only today but the entire year!

Now it’s time to reflect on your blessings and what you are grateful for. It’s also time to think about giving back and helping those who are not as fortunate.

Today is Giving Tuesday.

Giving Tuesday encourages people to do good. It has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people all over the world to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

For Susanne and me it’s a day to select organizations we want to support with year-end donations.

The Children’s Miracle Network (benefiting Nationwide Children’s Hospital) is on the top of our list as we share part of our commissions with every closed transaction.

We also donate to organizations like the Red Cross, the National Park Foundation, the Mid-Ohio Food bank, our church and the Boy Scouts of America.

Rich People are the Most Charitable

Earning more money enables you to be more charitable. It’s easier to donate to an organization you want to support if you have discretionary funds.

Of course, you should volunteer. But charitable organizations need a lot of money to accomplish their missions. They need your donations, not just your time.

Most rich people are very charitable. Some commit essentially all of their wealth to charity.

Think of Microsoft founder Bill Gates who created one of the largest charitable organizations in the World: The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. It has a major impact, both at home and internationally.

When you commit to earn more money selling real estate, you also commit to becoming more charitable. It allows you to contribute to the causes you truly care about and make a real impact.

The Most Charitable Brokerage in Columbus

When it comes to giving back our brokerage is incredible. Last year RE/MAX 24/7 ranked number 82 in the Business First Corporate Citizenship list.

The largest Columbus corporations are competing for top spots on this list, including Nationwide, Wendy’s, AEP, Cardinal Health and Kroger (the top 5 on the list).

No other real estate brokerage ranked above RE/MAX 24/7. This makes our tiny office the most charitable brokerage in Columbus. It’s a true testament to the dedication of our agents.
